Please join us for our first exhibition of 2024, On Intimacy, on view from February 18 – April 14, 2024 with an opening reception Sunday, February 18th from 3 – 5pm.
On Intimacy, a group show, will highlight artists whose practice touches on the intimate and ideas of intimacy in both form, scale, content and narrative. The show invites viewers to consider their own relationship to the works in the gallery, an invitation to meet the artist and their subjects halfway. The exhibition includes many artists from the Cleveland area and the greater Midwest. Abattoir continues its mission of showcasing work by local and emerging talents together with more established artists in the region and throughout the nation.
Visit our exhibition page for the full press release and image list.

Abattoir is a space for contemporary art in the historic Hildebrandt Building, a former meat processing plant in the resurgent Clark-Fulton neighborhood of Cleveland, located between the West 25th Street corridor and Ohio City. The gallery was launched in 2020 by Lisa Kurzner and Rose Burlingham. It presents a program of local, regional, and national artists, designed to elicit thought-provoking conversation and discussion.
